Man hurls firebombs at police

A man has allegedly thrown a flaming object at police during a siege in Melbourne, injuring an officer.

    A MAN has reportedly hurled firebombs at Victoria Police officers in a siege in Parkdale in Melbourne's south-east.
    A policeman has been taken to hospital with minor burns to his leg after a vessel of flammable liquid was thrown at him.
    Police converged on the scene at 1:20pm after reports a man was threatening self-harm.
    A huge police operation remains underway. Officers are continuing to negotiate with him.
