A TRAIN conductor has found a dead man riding the subway during morning rush hour.
New York police said the 53-year-old man was on a train bound for Crown Heights in Brooklyn around 7am, according to police.

"The customer was on a southbound train that travels from Woodlawn to Utica,"  a transport spokeswoman told the New York Post.

When the conductor first spotted the man, he thought he was sick. But when he realized the victim wasn’t breathing, authorities were notified.

Service was delayed in both directions on the line for about 45 minutes. The New York Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

The identity of the deceased is pending proper family notification.
